Teachers Change Lives
It is not an exaggeration to say that a great teacher can change a student’s life. There are an endless amount of stories that attest to the benefits of a strong relationship between an educator and pupil.
As some of the most influential role models for developing students, teachers are responsible for more than just academic enrichment. If you want to be a great educator, you must connect with your pupils and reach them on multiple levels, because the best teachers are committed to their students’ well-being both inside and outside the classroom. By forging strong relationships, educators are able to affect virtually every aspect of their students’ lives, teaching them the important life lessons that will help them succeed beyond term papers and standardized tests.
It is not always easy to change a student’s life, which is why it takes a great teacher to do so. Some just need an extra push like the student whose math grade is just a few points shy from the A that will give them a 4.0 GPA; others may be going through something troubling in their personal lives and need someone to talk to. Whatever the student needs to help them excel, a life-changing teacher will be there for them.

Kahsenniyohstha Lauren Williams. Prince of Wales elementary school in hamilton Mohawk language She's is an amazing woman and human being and I'm thankful for her every day. For the past two years my daughter attended prince of Wales. She has always struggled with anxiety and for the past 4 years it has been magnified by grief. (She lost her two grandmothers who she was close to, within six months of one another), and separation anxiety and angry outbursts started. I gave her a fresh start and she started at prince of Wales so she could start learning mohawk language, something she has always been passionate about. From the moment isabel started at prince of wales she had an instant connection with lauren. She flourished culturally and with the language. Lauren was able to connect with her in such a way that she became my daughters safe person. Someone she turned to if she was feeling anxious and having a bad day. Her moods improved substantially and made home life a lot easier. Lauren has been such an inspiration to my daughter that I'm not sure where we would be if it wasnt for her. She struggled in her classroom, with other teachers who didn't understand her, and with kids who liked to trigger her. After 2 years we did have enough and switched her schools for another start but lauren still reaches out to check on my daughter, and still passes along tips for beading and language. I know in my heart there are other parents who feel the same,e way about her as well, and I'm thankful each day for the love of learning about her roots she has instilled in my daughter
